Red Lemon Grill - View Park Hotel Tagaytay for our hungry tummies!

Tagaytay is a huge foodhub, there are so many good places to eat and with the cool Tagaytay ambiance and the majestic Taal Volcano as backdrop (hmmm)

For this Tagaytay trip, our tummies led us to View Park Hotel's ~ Red Lemon Grill.  It specializes on Asian cuisine.

My eldest Beef Tapa Rice Meal (P150). I guess it was good since he finished everything and did not bother share.

  • Chopsuey (175) is one of the house specialties.  It is special and tasted way better than most that I have had. The ingredients were fresh and the sauce thick and savory.
  • Lechon Kawali (P180) was also good.  It quite melts in your mouth and each bite makes you want more (I call it the evil lechon kawali).
  • Calamares (P190) was just okay for me.  My youngest loved it though.

Then finished with a cup of Signature Hot Chocolate(P125) from Adam's Café (View Park Hotel's coffee shop located right next to Red Lemon Grill).

The hot chocolate was a perfect end to a wonderful dinner.

VERDICT
  • Sorry no view of here. The restaurant is located on the other side of Taal Lake.
  • The place is quite small too with limited seating and parking spaces.  We came in a little early for dinner so we got good seats.
  • We love everything we ordered ~ food is delicious, with hefty servings and classy presentation.  Price is very affordable.
  • Staff are amiable and attentive.
  • They have an acoustic night, when we came (Saturday). I am not just sure on other days.  It would have been nice to stay a bit and chillax while having a bottle or two of cold beer (but we have whining and tired kids that night, so we left early).

Thumbs Up for Red Lemon and Grill.
We would love to come back and taste their other specialties.

Burger King at The Mall of Medini Legoland Malaysia

I don't really understand the connection between boys and burgers.

Burgers are not my thing, but with 3 boys against 1 girl (me) in my family, I almost always loose on restaurant choices (oh and that goes for movies and other activities as well~ yup poor mama, that is me)!

So during our recent trip to LEGOLAND Malaysia, when my boys unanimously decided on  burger for dinner ~ I feebly complied.

There is a Burger King  restaurant at the Mall of Medini, located right next to LEGOLAND Malaysia.

The place was near empty, when we came in.  There were only two other families eating, both foreigners. I think Malaysians are not much into burgers either.

Oh since, the boys got the choice on where to eat I got to choose what to order (lol!)

I got even with the boys and ordered the Chicken Combo instead, which included Chicken Royale, nuggets, fries and drinks good for four.  Combo meal costs about MYR50 (roughly P650).

Pancake House at the Mall of Medini (Legoland Malaysia)

The first time, we went to Malaysia, we had problems finding a place to eat. Our taste buds (except for my husband, who seems to enjoy Malayan food) and Malaysian cuisine were on different levels you see...

We would normally go for local cuisine... but here, it just doesn't work for me and my boys.

It was a good thing that right next to LEGOLAND Malaysia is the Mall of Medini.

Our life saver the Mall of Medini houses plenty of international and western restaurants to our liking.

Look at what we found:

PANCAKE HOUSE

My boys love pancake house and we are frequent visitors of Pancake House restaurants in Manila.  Like here in Manila, Malaysia's Pancake House serves the house specials. Average costs of special sets is MYR 20-25 .

Our Order

My youngest order milkshake, which he devoured at sight.

And a child's meal complete with tini-pancakes.

Pan Chicken Special (2pcs Pan Chicken with gravy, Tuna Macaroni Salad served with garlic rice, mini-pancakes and tea). Tastes much like what we have here, but I liked our salad better.

House Special Set (A delicious mix of Pancake House specials with 1pc of the best Taco in Town, House Spaghetti with Garlic Bread, 1pc Pan Chicken, mini-pancakes and ice tea)

Look they have Bangus!

We finished our meal, eating our pancakes over a cup of freshly brewed coffee (here, I got to admit, I liked their coffee better).

Malaysian hunger: Day 1 - Survived!

I wonder what we are having for dinner (hmmn)...

The Pancake House we visited is located at the
Mall of Medini Lot G10, Ground Floor

Toby's Estate ~ Specialty Coffee

Me and my hubby are always on the look out for the best coffees in town, it was no surprise that our coffee addiction led us to Toby's Estate World of Specialty Coffee at the SM Aura in BGC Taguig.

We were served rich flavorful long black coffee, with such a distinct aroma.

...partnered with Pistachio Cheese Cake (P250).

This is my first pistachio chees cake and found it very good. It was a delicate mix of cheese cake and pistachio that went well with our coffee.

Toby's Estate serves pastries, meal plates and pasta, unfortunately we were unable to check them out.

Chef d' Angelo Pizzaria ~ pizza, pasta and more

I love SM MOA.  It is a host to a numerous wonder places to eat and dine.

Whenever we are hungry me my boys go for pizza and pasta.  Our day's find is a charming Italian-American restaurant called
Café d' Angelo. It serves pizza and pasta, burgers, salad and rice meals.

We liked the restaurants homey-rustic vibe.

The boys ordered, Cheese and Garlic Quesadillas (P150) for starters.

Over-baked Ziti (P170)

And Hawaiian Classic Pizza (9" P220 / 12" P330)

VERDICT
  • Ambiance is relaxed and there weren't much people (I guess, because we dined early and we visited on a slow day ) which made dining peasant.
  • Staff were very attentive and good-natured.
  • Food was good ~ freshly made and tasty.  Our plates were clean and shiny-ready for the next meal.  Servings was hefty and an order enough for 2-3 to share.

If you are looking for a quick pizza-pasta bite or just fighting out a decision whether to dine Italian or American, Chef d' Angelo is a perfect choice.

The Café d' Angelo we visited is located at the ground floor of the South Wing of SM MOA South.

They also have branches at:

Robinson's Mall Manila
SM City Fairview
SM San Lazaro
SM City Pampanga
Robinson's Metro East
SM Centerpoint
