Welcome to Pagsanjan ~ More than rapids: Calle Arco Restaurant Review

There is more to Pagsanjan Laguna than the Pagsanjan falls and shooting rapids... there is of course Pagsanjan's delectable cuisine.

Located just a few meters away Pagsanjan town's century old arch gate is Calle Arco restaurant.  I was first drawn to this restaurant from recommendations from TripAdvisor ~ me and my foodie family wanted a taste of their menu.

The Pagsanjan Arch is difficult to miss.

Calle Arco is an old house turned restaurant.

An old piano sits by the main entrance. A lady was playing wonderful music the night we dined in ~ setting the perfect ambience (you easily forget that the restaurant sits on a busy road  and traffic can be a bit hellish as times.

There were numerous seating options,  we decided on a inside seating in the comfort of an air-conditioning.

We were ushered into a pink room decorated differently from the main seating area.  The pink room is styled like a European cafĂ© as compared to an antique mansion feel outside.

We ordered Tortang Talong (P180)

Crispy Chicken Garlic (P250)

Pancit Habhab (P150)

Halo-halo with ice cream (P95)

VERDICT
  • All our orders are spot on. We could have ordered more, but were too full to try all of the house specialties.  If you are not hungry and just passing by, I suggest a serving of their special halo-halo!  It is topped with the tastiest leche flan ever....
  • Price is really affordable, with huge servings meant for sharing.
  • Service is fast and crew are accommodating.
  • Recommended for travelling families and barkadas who are really hungry :P.

A clear thumbs up for Calle Arco from MamaSpeaks!

Greeenwich Pizza's "Cool Barkada Feel" Upgrade and More

Thoughts of pasta and pizza brings to mind my all time favorite pizzeria, "Greenwich Pizza".  I remember my father's "pasalubong" GW pizza  ~ back when GW was just an over-the-counter pizza store.  Me and my brods would almost always fight for the last slice!

Year later, GW is now the largest All Filipino pizza chain in the county.

I was recently invited to GW's first Pizza Party in Rizal, in it's latest branch at SM Center Angono Rizal and I was impressed to see, that GW just got itself an upgrade.

Check out GW's new cool, "barkada hang-out" vibe.

I adore these real sleek couches ~ best seat in the house!

Open kitchen concept is so in!
You know for sure, their preparing your food right!

"Instagramable hugot lines" adorn the walls.

Food has greatly improved over the years too ~ pizza remains spot on to the Filipino taste buds, but is now cheesier than ever and with so many topping options to choose from.

The Hawaiian Pizza remains to be my family's favorite!

The star of the Pizza Party is this GW's largest pizza yet, only for special occasions though (haizz...)

We were served garlic breadsticks, the cheesiest I have had ever, with 4 of the 6 slices per order ending on my plate
(oh yes I hoarded them all )!

The Ultimate Hawaiian Pizza (Barkada size P375) got me excited...

Wacky Wing (12pcs P289) and Pizza Fries (Barkada size P89) were perfect complements to our pizza.

The Hawaiian Lemon Slush (P25). It was a tad sweeter to my liking, but another blogger seemed to have enjoyed it much.

For dessert, we got Choco Banana Crisp (P99), which unfortunately I was unable to try ~ (blame it on the 4 garlic breadsticks and 2 Hawaiian pizza slices I earlier devoured on).

The party got rowdy with a pizza game.

The member of the first team to finish their pizza, wins a gift card each for a pizza a month from GW.

(A.k.a. Man vs. Food... I thought GW pizza was winning, but it was obviously no match for these cruel, cruel men :P )

L-R: (1) Blogger friends Shane of Bloom, Blossom and Grow and Joriben of Jori's Entertainment; (2) The Mayor Gerry Calderon of Angono Rizal, enjoying his turn on GW giant pizza and (2) Me with blooger friend May Ann of Momsventure.

GW Pizza Party Rock!

Visit the nearest Greenwich Pizza store nearest you and have your fill of GW delicious pizza.

My favorite ensaymada just got bigger!

For ensaimadas, bigger is definitely better (come on, I know you agree)
RedRibbon introduces its bigger ensaimada that boosts in cheesy goodness

We Filipinos love to snack, and no one can argue that of all the many snack options kids and adults love, the classic ensaimada is one of the most popular choices.  However, not all ensaimadas are created equal ~ there are ensaimadas and there is Red Ribbon's Really Cheesy Ensaimada.

Now, Red Ribbon has just succeeded in making something already so good, so much better.  The new Red Ribbon Ensaimada is now bigger and bursts with cheesy goodness that no one can resist.

Red Ribbon’s Ensaimada still packs the same goodness Pinoys have always expected and come to love. It still has that same soft, melt-in-your-mouth pastry, well-balanced sweetness and the right cheesy goodness that is so affordably priced at P25.00 only.

With Red Ribbon’s bigger ensaimada, snack time is sure to be more enjoyable, memorable and delicious.

Red Ribbon’s Ensaimadas are available in all Red Ribbon stores nationwide.

Again I am hungry :P

Restuarant Review ~ Pablo at Picasso Boutique Serviced Residences

PABLO is Picasso Boutique Residences in house restaurant.

PABLO is a Bistro-Bar offering a multi-cultural assortment of dishes inspired by classic European Bistro cuisine.  Unfortunate, we were only able to their breakfast menu as part of our Picasso Boutique Residences stay.

Pablo’s interiors exudes a contemporary feel with modern fixtures and furnishings.   The place looks upscale, but relaxed.

Breakfast comes with open bread, salad, fruits, juices and coffee bar.

Breakfast was good and filling, which left me wondering about their  lunch and dinner offerings ~ Yes, definitely a next time!
