I was out gallivanting with my husband at Robinson's Mall in Antipolo when hunger striked. We saw this fairly new restaurant,
Marison's at the malls Al Fresco area and decided to give it a try.
They offer traditional Filipino Cuisine with a twist. They have reinvented our all too common Filipino dishes and made them special.
We ordered
Pinakbet using bagoong balayan (P220).
I thought I ordered healthy, until I saw the lechon kawali (lol).
Empanada with papaya and pork fillings (P255)
VERDICT:
- I love the modern twist Marison did to their menu. The changes were not over the top, so the original flavor is still there, but better.
- An order is good for 2-3 pax, not bad for an average P300 per dish.
- Staff were fine, but would really need to be more attentive, we were there on a busy day, so that is forgiven,
- It was just me and hubby that day, so we were not able to order to much. I would love to return with my family and order their house specialties balut tempura, tuna shanghai, chicken binakol and pasta Chinoy.

This restaurant is in my bucket list ever since it was featured in Kris TV. Ang layo lang ng Antipolo but who knows baka magawi duin kami. :)
ReplyDeleteToo bad the place is far from us. But I'd love to try them out in case we get the chance to visit Antipolo. I like that not so healthy pinakbet. Hahaha.
ReplyDeleteI'm not very adventurous when it comes to Filipino food, but you said the changes were very subtle so maybe it would taste much more interesting for me.
ReplyDeleteThis is perfect for my husband and my son. I wish we can visit here if he comes home from Saudi. :) Kaso Mejo malayo antipolo, looks yummy, though.

I wish they have a branch here at Robinsons Galleria. We love to try their Pinakbet and Empanada.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter's school is near Robinson's Antipolo so we usually go there after school... and Marison's is our favorite place to eat! Love their kare-kare!
ReplyDeleteMy friend recommended this place to us several months ago and I'm salivating from your photos! How does the fried kesong puti taste like? Im curious! We always have Kesong Puti sent to us by my Dad and it looks like something I can experiment on.

ReplyDeleteCan't wait to visit this resto on my next payday. Ive been indulging in different restaurants lately and practice food photography before I eat my food. It's like my new vice. I checked their website. The Kare-Kare looks really enticing. =)
